Adrienne Larocque has a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Queen’s University. She is the author or co-author of more than 20 articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous talks at international scientific conferences. In 2001, Dr. Larocque was awarded the Hawley Medal by the Mineralogical Association of Canada (awarded for the best paper to appear in Canadian Mineralogist in the previous year). The following year she was nominated for the Young Scientist Award of the Mineralogical Association of Canada (given to a young scientist who has made a significant international research contribution in a promising start to a scientific career).

Throughout her geological career, Dr. Larocque studied materials collected from the tops of mountains to the bottom of the ocean floor, ranging in age from Archean to Quaternary. Her main area of expertise is the geochemistry of metals, particularly gold. For her work, she combined traditional field and petrographic work with novel analytical techniques to answer important questions about how metals move and interact with fluids. In 2001, Dr. Larocque left her position as Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba in Canada to focus on raising her young family. As a "trailing spouse" in Asia, she taught Math and Science (including Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Environmental Science) at several international schools.

In 2005, Dr. Larocque began doing independent research about diet and metabolism. Her interest in fitness and nutrition came about through her own personal health journey. Dr. Larocque has written nutrition-related articles for High End Magazine, The Jakarta Post, www.obgyn.net and for fitness and health publications in Indonesia and the Philippines. She is a member of the Nutrition and Metabolism Society and Associate Director of the Healthy Nation Coalition.

In her spare time, Adrienne enjoys scrapbooking, knitting, sewing and painting. Her scrapbook pages have been published in Creating Keepsakes and HighEnd Teen magazines and several e-magazines and e-books.
